Moms and Daughters Crafting Like Crazy

Homesteader Chic is a multi-generational family cooperative business with mother, daughters, and granddaughters. We all have various crafting interests and small businesses that include digital design cutting, vinyl application, ink sublimation, and computer graphic design. In our family you’ll find several Silhouette machines humming along as we create with vinyl, paint, paper, and fabric.

Combining our crafting skills with our love of all things farm and country, we have been selling finished products in our Etsy shop, Homesteader Chic, since 2012. In 2016 we added digital cut file designs for crafting. Today you’re visiting our shop for DIYers at www.HomesteaderChic.com, home to these digital downloads as well as tips and ideas for using them. If you’re looking for mugs, shirts, decals, or other finished items, visit us at Homesteader Chic at Etsy www.HomesteaderChic.etsy.com. Wherever you find us, you’ll find a touch of country!

Crafting has been a lifelong pastime for me, and my four children couldn’t help but pick up some “must create stuff” genes. After working with words as a writer and editor, I now find myself exploring a different artistic side. While I’ve dabbled in digital design for two decades, for the past few years I’ve been learning new techniques and spending hours creating new cut file designs.

My high school sweetheart, Jim, and I putter around on a small farm in the mountains of Northeast Washington State. Along with my many craft projects, I enjoy gardening, raising chickens, decoding cryptic crossword puzzles, and hanging out with the family. I’m in my element playing card and board games with our awesome grandkids, who range from toddler to young adult. It’s a wonderful life!

avatarABOUT BETHANY

I often consider myself a unique dichotomy – I am passionate about both business and marketing topics, as well as crafting and creative endeavors. I’m a single mother, raising three daughters on my off-grid permaculture homestead, and I am self employed with various businesses and projects around the Internet.

You will often find me brainstorming new product or business ideas (like a mad scientist), learning about the latest marketing techniques, experimenting with new products, building or tinkering with my homestead, or designing new cut files – and usually with a pot of tea by my side.

ABOUT CHRISTINA

chrissie-profileAs mommy to an active preschooler and wife to a busy machinist, I always fit in some creativity for business and pleasure. In addition to running my own small businesses, I am the maker of mugs, shirts, and decals for our Homesteader Chic Etsy shop.

A vet tech by training, I love animals and farm life. While we live in the city right now, I’m dying to live rurally with a flock of chickens and a herd of goats. I’m also a nerd well-versed in various fandoms, which inspire many of my projects with yarn, knitting needles, and crochet hooks.

ABOUT SARAH

Crafting is a welcome change of pace as I keep up with six kids, toddler to teen. I bought my first Silhouette machine in 2008 to make projects for my home and family. Over the years, I have focused on vinyl-decorated items and vinyl stencils for painting, specializing in subway art, holiday, family, and sports themes.

After several years as an RN in the ER and PICU, I became a stay-at-home mom when our first child was born. My husband and I are board members of a local baseball club and our family is often on the go to baseball and softball practices, games, and tournaments. A volunteer on our MOPS leadership team and at the kids’ schools, I also enjoy sewing, quilting, canning, and cross-stitching.
